Holidays-09

Thanksgiving this year we spent it with some friends and had a great time hanging out and cooking. Below is our lovely head chef, it was quite the production of food. And below is the gorgeous turkey and a couple of candids!

Christmas Eve we spent in Camano and Christmas Day we hosted. There are not many pics of Christmas Day because I spent most of it in the kitchen. Everything turned out pretty well, only bummer was some family had to cancel due to the crazy snow. Below is my first blueberry pie...so nummy, pics of snow, and my brother-in-law in the snow (ski crash into a tree!).

Updates For the Start of 2009

The photo above of Mt Rainier was taken Christmas Eve Morning. The view was spectacular... The one below was taken someday after, but I really cannot remember when. It was a couple of days later though. I thought the clouds were cool. If you look closely it is blurry, but hey I was driving!

The first weekend in Feb we took a 3 day trip to Long Beach, WA. Pretty cool trip, neither of us had been there except to just drive through. It was my first time up in a lighthouse. Cool. The lighthouse below is the Northhead Lighthouse. They let you go to the top and it looks out to the Pacific Ocean and South to the Columbia River.

The signs say that Long Beach is the longest beach. Well it was a clamming weekend (tons of people!) and they let you drive on the beach this time of the year, so we thought how far can it be? It's far! We started at the farthest South point and drove North. Took FOREVER! :) It was about 25 miles plenty long enough to get bored.

Last weekend we went for a "morning" hike. Yeah that hike lasted well into mid afternoon. We went to go do the Twin Falls hike up off I-90. Started at the wrong trailhead and it added about 9 miles to the hike! Super cool walk, but I was already getting pretty sore about 8-9 miles in. But we did finish and were glad we had gone. :) The waterfalls were spectacular.

some random pics from the last couple months

This summer has been pretty dog gone busy! I don't think either of us could tell you what we have been doing, but ask either of us and we are pretty worn out. Good thing we are always trying our best to have a good time!! Below are some pictures from the last few months.
Bears up at Whistler. Don't worry viewed from the gondola so not to fret :). This was up the top of peak chair early July. Whistler got some snow last year!
Nathan and I riding Crank it Up at Whistler .
Nicky making her own bed out of nicely folded blankets.
My rose. It has been gorgeous this year.
Nathan learning to wakeboard...
Isaac not too sure of Aunt Kelly's decoration of his melon....but ahhh ha I finally got it to stay!

Two strawberry pot planters that have had dead strawberries in them all summer because I never remember to water them, now contain lovely sedums and other rock plants. I am hoping for better results with the same watering schedule as before. :)

Life Updates...

Here is a picture of me and my dance class (I am the one in the red skirt) attired in our "Thriller" outfits.

Near the end of May I was in my office looking out the window and saw this mother duck moving her 9 babies to the bigger pond! They were booking. She was not allowing them breaks and I nearly missed them trying to get the camera.

My attempt at a portrait of Nicky!
